As a registered charity and an Institution of a Public Character (IPC), The Girls’ Brigade Singapore (GBS) makes every effort to ensure all our practices are aligned with good governance, reporting and management standards according to the principles of the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character. We are strongly committed to providing a high level of transparency and accountability so that the public and our stakeholders can have full confidence that GBS is a responsible steward of the funds and resources entrusted to it.
Annually, GBS compiles and submits the Governance Evaluation Checklist in the Charity Portal at www.charities.gov.sg.

Board Governance & Committees
GBS is governed by a Board whose members are elected biannually according to the Constitution with the aid of a Nominations Committee. The Board consists of five Board Committees that look into specific key areas to ensure that matters are given the right support, resources, and fiduciary guidance.

Conflict of Interest
The Girls’ Brigade Singapore has in place a Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy which all incoming staff & Board Members are required to endorse and align with. This involves avoiding conflicts of interest between the interests of the Girls’ Brigade, and personal, professional, and business interests.
Data Protection Policy
The Girls’ Brigade Singapore has in place a Privacy Policy covering data protection of all information we receive. We regard the privacy of our member’s personal data with utmost importance and are committed to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act of 2012 (PDPA).
Our Privacy policy is stated as follows:
We receive or collect personal data for the purpose of administering activities of The Girls’ Brigade. This includes:
- Processing of applications for the provision of programmes and services.
- Processing of applications for the provision of facilities to our facility users.
- Processing of tax exemptions for donations and sponsorships.
- For record keeping and documentation of Girls, volunteers, alumni and staff.
- For promotion and communication of the activities of The Girls’ Brigade through all media platforms.
- Assessing badge claims via our internal Data Management System.
Usage of your personal data is limited to the above mentioned.
- All members have the right to request for the excess and/or amendment and withdraw of personal information at any point in time. Please contact GB headquarters at gbhq@gb.org.sg if you seek to request for any changes.
- We will retain your data within a period of time until a request was made to do otherwise.
- We reserve the right to amend our Privacy Policy at any point in time. In the instance that changes are made on our Data Protection Policy, the amendments will be published on this website.

Whistleblowing Policy
GBS has in place a Whistle Blowing Policy to provide a framework to promote responsible and secure whistle-blowing. The procedures allow employees and anyone outside the organisation to report concerns related to irregularities, inappropriate behaviour, legal or ethical violations.
