GB FRIEND
IN DEED

The Girls’ Brigade Friend in Deed (GBFD) is The Girls’ Brigade Singapore’s annual nationwide community service project that brings joy, dignity and hope to vulnerable individuals and families across Singapore. It connects GB Girls, families, community partners and members of the public in a shared effort to uplift those who may be experiencing financial hardship, health challenges, limited mobility or a lack of social support.

Instead of generic donations, GBFD fulfils specific wishes shared by Social Service Agencies, Social Service Offices, SG Cares Volunteer Centres and community partners. Each wish reflects a real or evolving need - a kettle for a senior living alone, a mobility aid for someone managing chronic illness, bedsheets for a low-income family, or toys and school supplies that help a child feel seen and cared for.

Join our GB Girls and play a key role in adopting wishes, packing items and delivering them door to door.

"Happy to see so many passionate individuals from 66 Girls’ Brigade companies, more than 90 social service agencies, donors and partners, who came together to contribute their time and effort. No effort is too small, and everyone has a part to play in uplifting our fellow Singaporeans."
Mr. Eric Chua

"It is actually a wonderful project with The Girls' Brigade Friend in Deed project. Because I think what happens in a sense is that the Girls actually ask our beneficiaries what are some of their needs and wants, and then they meet it in a very practical way, blessing them with gifts."
Lilian Ong
Director of Social Work at New Hope Community Services
"Fulfilling the specific wishes of Singaporeans in need is an excellent example of the spirit of volunteerism and community service that we seek to cultivate in our society. Vulnerability can come in many different forms - age, disability, illness and many other reasons that bring new and unexpected challenges. By providing personal and customised support, we can better empower individuals and families with the help that they truly need."
Mdm Halimah Yacob
Chancellor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences
Former President of the Republic of Singapore
"The Girls’ Brigade Friend in Deed project provides more than just financial and material support. It seeks to recognise the dignity of vulnerable individuals and families, their evolving needs, and the choices they wish to make for themselves."
Ms Jane Ittogi
